There are so many great acoustic music moments  in San Diego every week that many people just don't know about.  The HAT Awards is changing that.  Each year, we "honor acoustic talent".  That's where we get our name from - H.A.T.!

The San Diego H.A.T. Awards are representative of the acoustic music community because these events comprise so many of San Diego's critical and most avid acoustic musicians and music supporters. From venues like  Lestat's, Vinbladh's and Mueller College to the long-time acoustic music supporters at The San Diego Troubadour many of our sponsors have been writing, performing and promoting acoustic music for several years. The H.A.T. Awards represents a very special collection of individuals who have a deep passion for acoustic music and truly want to develop a stronger, more inclusive community.

Together, in 2006, we showed how San Diego is contributing on the world stage by focusing on grassroots efforts here at home. We believed in the talents of our hometown musicians and we continue our commitment towards the very bright future of acoustic music as a dominating industry in San Diego.

What makes the current trends in San Diego so significant is that San Diego has attracted world-class talent. Many acoustic musicians in San Diego maintain touring schedules,  tour support and record deals from major and independent record labels.  The niche of acoustic music has grown and these talented artists are bursting into other communities around California, the U.S. and even abroad.
